Post title : taiwan grad trip Day 3 (Hualien)
♥ You'll never know the real me.
the following entries are going be much longer than the previous 2. haha.. being that our ititerary got pretty exciting as the day passed. lolzx
Day 3 (Hualien)
Activity: Taroko Gorge
Basically, its a scenery day for everyone. And i must say that its pretty good! Away from the bustling city scene, you will be amazed by all the beautiful sights along the way.
It's a must-go when you're in Huaalien!!
Just some random thoughts and photos along the way. A picture speaks a thousand words. hehe.. in short -> lazy to explain
Breakfast at the minsu.. colourful!! makes you wanna clear the whole plate?
i just loveee swing swings
lonely old man!!
went to this beach called Qi Xing Tan. u can really see how BLUE the sky and sea is!!! i loveee the blue-ness of everything under the sun. but no one swims there cause the currents very strong.. heard from the cabbie driver that the current would pull you away from the shore. hmm.. dont ever try swimming there i guess. lolzx
and another thing to note was that their beaches dont have sand one!! haha.. it consists mostly of pebbles and rocks. and you should grab afew of them.. they're quite pretty. free goodies!! hah

whenever i see this pic, i would burst into laughter.. haha.. Bob's really comical in it LOLZX.. he looked like he was going to fall or something.
one of the very first breathtaking pics! @ Cingshuei cliff. there's 2.. little Cingshuei cliff and big Cingshuei cliff.
and then.. we embarked on our walking trail
and more walking.. march march!!!
Swallow grotto
authenicity!?!?!
our fave time of the day~ LUNCHTIME!!!!
there will 2 "Excitings" throughout the trail
Exciting #1: pitch dark tunnel cave that we had to bypass. Even when your eyes are wide open, you cant even see what's right in front of you. PITCH DARK Woohoo~
Exciting #2:
The water's freezing COLD okie.. and it's so clean that you can drink it on its own. Pure, unpurified mountain water. Sweet, yummy!
realized that our clique loves jumping ALOT! we jumped whenever we were. this is only just one of those moments. wahahazx
nostalgy. when you know how these tunnels were made, you will appreciate and lament about how much and how many people had suffered in the past
we had 2 cabbie drivers for this taroko outing cos our people couldnt fill 1 MPV. haha.. Mr Looi (on the left) and his friend were our local guides for the day. They were very friendly and humourous. lolzx.. Throughout the journey, Mr Looi explained quite alot about the stuff and he's quite knowledgable. Not too sure about his friend cause i was with Mr Looi's cab. People interested in going Hualien could contact Mr Looi, his service is yi ji ban! =)
Bian chi (local dumplings) Total: 11 dumplings, dont remember the price but its cheap yet nice!
Hua zhi. Basically, its sotong fish-cake liked. not bad~~ =)
i was looking forward to the sweet corn. hmm.. apparently, not to my liking. The sauce is nice (homemade) but the corn tastes hard. hmm.. not the norm that i like, you know crunchy! haha
hahahazx.. scary sight.
P.S: small kids dont try it at home. =P
while the rest went out to play fireworks...
3 of us were...
hehehehehehe
doing THIS!!!
the feeling of watching "Ming Zhong" in tw is a total DIFFERENT experience. =)
25 May 2008.
and the ratings hit above 10% i think for this epi.
all thanks to us. wahahaahaha
and the fireworks experience was darn hilarious too!!!! hmm.. wasnt present at the scene.. so can anyone recite the whole story here???? i can imagine simone doing an act. hahahahahaha...
Bedtime. nitezx nitezx!

Post title : taiwan grad trip Day 2 (Taipei -> Hualien)
♥ You'll never know the real me.
i can only say that its a TORTURE to have to wake up darn early everyday for the trip.
haha.. but its WORTHWHILE!! =P
onboard FIRST CLASS CABIN from taipei to hualien *YIPEE!!*

we were like kings and queens okie! haha.. with breakfast being served right to us, having first class seats, sitting comfortably blasting music from the speakers found on both sides of ur head rest seat.
COOL~

nice scenery along the way. i think it took about 2 hours plus to reach our destination.
Upon arrival, the minsu's in-charges came to fetch us from the train station to our meh-meh cosy home. and we'll be staying there for 2 nights.
okie.. me and hua didnt choose the wrong minsu to stay in.. it's my personal fave accomodation throughout the whole trip wahaha..

its called sheep chimmey minsu.
for more details, please visit this webbie!
http://www.sheep-chimney.com/
wahaha.. i'm like helping them to advertise lolzx..
the room decor's very sweetie, BIG rooms, clean toilets.
Wang mama is very friendly and helpful. She'll help you whenever possible and even brought us on a local night short tour to show us what to eat, see.
hoho.. and i must say that our driver (think he's the son of the lady boss) is cute. lolzx.. oops!
well well, not to digress further..

we settled our lunch with bento sets and it's yummy yummy...
settled into our rooms and it's playtime~
dolphin watching session
morale of story: take seasickness pills cause the currents' darn scary. alot of turbulences unless you dont mind a free rollercoaster ride for at least 2-3 hours in the sea.

got excited when the boat ride just started. apparently about half an hour into it, everyone's seemed to be drifting in their own stomach's sea of waters. hahazx..
there were about 5 dolphins displaying their moves in the deep waters. first encounter upclose with them man! imagine how swiftly they move but can "brake" in time without hitting our boats. haha
didnt managed to take any nice pics of the dolphins cause they were way too fast for our camera's shutter. lolzx
and i think the waters in this region's very clean if not you wouldnt be able to see dolphins!!
watching dolphins can be an ordeal on this own. haha
and the day ended with a night walk around the bustling area of hualien which only consists of 3 streets. there's 3 different Zhong(s). Zhong xiao, zhong hua and zhong something. haha.. dont remember already
some foodstuff to try out when in hualien!
bian shi (taiwan's version of wanton dumplings)

Gong bao (my personal fave!!!!!)
mochi (try the fresh ones, consumption within 24hrs)

pork ribs rice and golden eggs

basically we were on an eating spree for the night! wahaha
aiyo!! i'm HUNGRY already!!!
that's all for tonight!! stay tuned for Day 3 - to Taroko Gorge!

Post title : Taiwan grad trip Day 1 (Taipei)
♥ You'll never know the real me.
heyo!!
i'm back~~
shall update on my grad trip in taiwan pretty soon i guess! wahaha
though its been only less than a month since the trip, it really felt like a long long time ago event. *ponders why*
It was a 12day trip thingy, with official planning starting way back at least half a year ago! haha.. the kiasu-lot i should say. "Unofficial" planning started since year 2/3, when we were already excitedly thinking of which part of the world to explore.
*Day 1*

arrival at taipei airport yeah~
morale of the day: Funny day encountering stupid acts. lolzx..
it started off with a taxi with the car plate breaking and dropping on the road.
and ended off with me spilling pearl milk tea at a shoe shop in taiwan! gosh~
to the personnel involved-
state of mind at point of incident: shocked and frightened
aftermath: guilty wahaha!!
oh well.. it was just a travelling day basically since our flight to taiwan was 1pm and we arrived at our hotel only around 7plus, 8pm. we were famished man!!!!!

Cityinn hotel ( i love this hotel! hoho) pretty pretty

we had beef noodles for dinner and i must say that its pretty NICE!!! The soup tastes beefy and the meat's tender and soft. *yummy* so sad that we were there only on the first night, if not i'll just eat there again!!
and the boss's very friendly too! and he mentioned that his son is studying in Singapore now too, for the past 7 years hoho.. maybe that's why he felt a sense of familiarity seeing Sporeans!!
and we headed off to Shilin night market for the rest of the night! but well.. didnt have much time there too cause it was quite late already. managed to buy some stuff on the first day of shopping le. lolzx

Shilin's food district
oh oh.. and i did something stupid again.. dialed the wrong hotel room to find meisin. haha.. oh well... not worth-mentioning gee.
gonna be an early day tmr morning to catch 8plus train ride to HUALIEN!!
yipee~~

♥ You'll never know the real me.
geezx.. i'm finally back blogging here! been pretty busy recently.. no chance to update much too.
hmm.. shall finish up with the kelong trip though it seemed like months ago. haha.
on the 2nd day on the telong,
we managed to catch a glimspe of the sunrise at first hand. however, due to the heavy rain the day before, the whole sky looked so cloudy and misty. seemingly depicting that the the day ahead would be bad weather??
all of us woke up at around 6plus after sleeping for only afew short hours due to mahjong! haha..
cool and mysterious

and after another hour's of sleep, we went on our island hopping trip to one of the nearby islands which took about 20-30mins by a slow-moving boat. lolzx..
we were at

it was a pretty scorning midday i must say. so much for a cloudy morning..
and we started to explore part of the island.

and it was back to the telong for lunch before home sweet home~~
hopefully i'll have time to slowly blog about my taiwan grad trip!!

=2h3n=
When Zhen thinks about her life, she always get emo. Haha.
Zhen wants to travel. Zhen wants to get out of Singapore.
Zhen wants to have children. Her own ones whom she can dote and love on. Her own ones whom she can really given them the best. And probably the life she has always wanted.
